Social media companion sites and landing pages:
A companion site is a content based website that is used in conjunction with your social media program, most typically with Facebook. The site contains the information or news you want to post to Facebook. Instead of posting the news or information directly onto Facebook, you post a link to the story on your website. Your fans will click on the link to look at the story which will take them to the companion site otherwise known as a landing page.
The site will contain links and information for your fans to use such as your product inventory, any special events or sales they may want to know about etc. It can almost mirror your normal website. This is unobtrusive, but gives them the option to explore your website if they wish.
